JEWELLERY CARE

Caring for your 925 Sterling Silver jewellery.

Here are some tips on how to look after and maintain your jewellery. It is important to keep the following in mind to keep it in good condition over time:

  • Avoid contact between the jewellery and chemicals or corrosive products, such as perfume, alcohol, cleaning products, hairspray, make-up and the like.
  • For gold-plated jewellery, we recommend avoiding contact with any liquid so the plating does not fade, including water, salt water, chlorine and sweat, since sweat can speed up the wear of the plating. For these reasons, please note that gold-plated jewellery needs more care or, if your experience tells you it does not last, choose Silver jewellery.
  • We recommend storing your jewellery separately so it does not get scratched, in a zip bag or, failing that, a cotton pouch to avoid damage. Also avoid extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

Cleaning your jewellery

  • Rub your pieces with a cloth to remove dirt and polish them.
  • You can wash your Silver pieces in warm water with a mild dishwashing liquid, rubbing them with your fingers and leaving them to soak for a few minutes. Then dry them immediately, first with a soft tissue and then with a hairdryer on a cold setting.
  • Gold-plated pieces need extra care. Rubbing hard can wear away the plating, so it is important to be gentle to avoid wearing it down. If you wet them to remove dirt, dry them quickly with a soft tissue and then with a hairdryer on a cold setting.
  • A specific silver polishing cloth is a great tool to make your jewellery shine again if it has tarnished over time.
